½ cup beef broth
1 tsp evoo
½ can diced tomatoes (200g)
2 tbsp BBQ sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup red wine (Cabernet or Shiraz)
½ tsp Fantasea-salt
½ tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp SMASH Greek Lamb Rub
This finishing sauce is perfect for adding to slow-cooked lamb shanks, giving them a rich and robust flavour. You can use this same recipe when slow cooking your lamb shanks too! Just add a few additional ingredients such as diced carrots, onions, and garlic with some extra broth.
SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. This will take approximately 35 minutes for the sauce to reduce. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking; bringing the sauce back to a boil while stirring will help it thicken further. Add your slow-cooked lamb shanks to the saucepan and coat well. Finish off your cook by letting the sauce meld into the lamb. Serve over some mash for a comforting and delicious meal!
